HOW TO SAVE A HOME FROM FORECLOSURE FOR $5

Author: Jim Norbuta  //  Category: News, Ohio, Real Estate, chagrin falls

Saving a home from forclosure for $5 is a definite possibility.

This fundraiser is to benefit Veronique Tucker and her 5 year old son Alex.  Their lives were forever changed when her husband Joe died suddenly on October 19, 2009.    Joe was a highly decorated Navy Veteran who served all of us in Desert Storm.  Joe and Veronique were married for 16 years, and Joe was just beginning a new business after a lengthy period of being unemployed.

On January 23rd, we held a CHILI COOK-OFF to help Veronique and Alex remain in their home.  Although over $3,000 was raised, it will only temporarily allow Veronique and Alex to remain in their Auburn Township, Ohio home.

There were approximately 50 volunteers and 160 attendees at the cook-off, including 20 chili cooks, 20 dessert & corn-bread bakers, and many others who helped with the event.  THERE WERE 20 BLUE RIBBON CHILIS PREPARED.

We are selling the AWARD WINNING CHILI RECIPES FOR A $5 DONATION.

Your $5 donation, along with sharing this website address, will save this family another trauma of leaving their family home.

MEAT INGREDIENTS
predominately, ground round steak and lean, ground beef.
1/3 as much combination of ground pork and ground italian sausage.
sliced chorizo
about 2 cups, diced uncooked pork roast.
cook all meat ingredients, long and slow.

PRODUCE INGREDIENTS
lots of diced onions
1 green pepper, diced
1 red pepper, diced
drizzle with olive oil, saute over medium heat, till carmalized.
add 2 cloves fresh minced garlic
5 diced roma tomatoes
saute, for a minute or two.

add produce to drained meat.

add 2 or 3 large cans of crushed tomatoes, to combined mixture and continue to simmer.

SEASONINGS
salt
pepper
smoked paprika
chili powder
Dean Jacobs Grinder’s Mill Citrus Salt (found at gourmet food shops….Le Gourmet, at Aurora Farms?)
Dean Jacobs Grinder’s Mill Spicy Garlic Seasonings (see above)
Steak Seasonings (found in grocery stores)
The Gourmet Collection (found it at Marshall’s) Garlic & Onion Spice Blend
dash of ground ginger
and, our “secret ingredient”………..Sriracha HOT chili sauce (found at Walmart, in the chinese food section)

These are all ingredients i had, at home.  so, use your own and in quantities you personally will like.

Finally, simmer all combined ingredients for about an additional hour, over low heat or in a crock pot, stirring frequently, so no hot spots or chili burns, at the bottom.  it is dense, so be careful.  long and slow!

garnish each bowl with shredded mexican 4 cheese (NOT taco cheeses), dab of sour cream, diced onion and additional hot sauce, if you like.
also really good over split open baked potato or cheesie mashed potatoes.
